On the following pages you'll find a photo story about Troop 651's biggest hands on project ever. They had the tremendous honor of planning and acting as hostesses for the 80th Birthday Bash of our very dear friend, past council president, "mom", "Grandmother", "Great-Grandmother", and mentor, Della Wakefield.
The event was held as an act of love, Bronze Award project, Bridging and Award Ceremony event. It too place at Camp Klahanee on July 10, 2005.
Unfortunately the photos are by necessity fairly large files (54-100 k) so there are a number of pages (in progress) so as to make for less sluggish page loads. This site will be growing over the next week or two as time permits.
The first photos are from the first day at camp and the troops' preparations. The girls had sack lunches when they firsat arrived and then got to work! They posted signs on the various trails where they would be taking visitors on tours, mixed cement and made their event memory block for the patio, cleaned the old memory blocks on the patio, etc. After a dinner of KFC they worked on food preparation, practiced ceremonies for the next day, and learned to fold a full sized flag for the very first time.
The photos begin here!
