On May 15th, 2005 Norway and Sons of Norway members everywhere celebrated The Centennial of Norway's independence from Sweden (May 17th). Katie and Bri are members of Sons of Norway and participate in their activities. Pat Morgan, the cultural director of our local SoN lodge came to their Girl Scout troop and helped the troop prepare for World Thinking Day 2005 by teaching them all rosemaling, Norwegian dancing, and a lot about the history and culture of Norway. After Thinking Day she invited the troop to be a part of the Centennial celebration by dancing with other girls at the event. Here are the photos.
